KRUG, the coffee cup, was conceived, designed and developed by us as a true product of the heart.

In our culture, coffee plays an important role in various areas of life - whether as an energy kick-off to the day, as a social ritual at the workplace, for soothing warmth after a cold walk or for pure relaxation in a comfortable armchair: the moments to enjoy coffee could hardly be more numerous!

But what has long since become a science in its own right for wine, whiskey and the like, has been largely neglected when it comes to coffee:

Since they were all enthusiastic coffee drinkers themselves, our team of designers, engineers and product developers immediately got involved with great enthusiasm, with the stated goal of creating a meticulously designed, beautifully shaped, functional and, above all, innovative coffee cup.

Fortunately, no one suspected at the time that this project would take several years and lead us from hand ergonomics measurements, design studies and magnetic bearing technology, through the development of our own composite material mixture, to nights of computer-aided flow analyses.

For all the impatient and happy-ending lovers, here are the hard product facts of KRUG - the (k)inetically (r)oting (U)rirring (G)ift:

The central element is a fluid-dynamically calculated vane that generates highly turbulent vortices without spillage. Milk, sugar, and flavorings are evenly distributed throughout the entire beverage – without a spoon, saucer, or spills. A gentle twist of the cup's rim is all it takes, and the integrated magnetic bearing ensures virtually frictionless, continuous rotation, resulting in an incomparably homogeneous mixture.

KRUG consists of a specially developed composite material: Enclosed micro-glass spheres store the thermal energy of the coffee, allowing it to reach the ideal drinking temperature faster and thus achieve the perfect flavor development, and to retain this temperature for longer.

The timeless design is formed from a 100% food-safe high-tech plastic that ideally protects taste and aromas, while the individually defined surface structures of the cup's interior, drinking rim and outer surfaces are specifically tailored to the respective skin contact.

The base of the coffee cup can be removed with just one click for cleaning – dishwasher safe, microwave safe and virtually indestructible – even after falling from the table or shelf.

KRUG is easily recyclable thanks to the carefully selected materials, is entirely manufactured, handcrafted and packaged in Germany, and thus contributes to the reduction of transport emissions, waste and resource use.
